1) I would like to become a member of the i-genius community; how do I do this?
Registering with i-Genius is easy and only takes a few minutes. In the right hand corner of the homepage, under the 'Login/sign-in' boxes, is an option that says 'Not yet a member? Register!' Click on register, and a new page will come up, where you fill in some basic information about yourself, and can upload a photograph (member profiles tend to look a lot better with photos, so we encourage you to post one up!) All fields marked with * means that you have to fill in that field in order to be able to register. Make sure you click on the final box that says 'I agree to the terms of use for i-Genius' before pressing the 'Submit' button. If you click back to the i-genius homepage, you will see yourself under 'Latest Members' on the right hand side of the page.

2) How do I search for a member within a specific country?
Click on 'Members' on the main bar at the top of the page. Click on the drop-down box under 'Country' and select the country you are interested in. Click on search and all members within that country will be listed. To specify your search further, you can type in a keyword in the box below.

3) I know the name of the member I am interested in. How can I find them?
In the 'search' box at the right hand side of the main bar, type the name of the person, and press return. The search facility requires that you type in more than 3 characters, so if the name you are searching for only has 2 characters, type the first letter of the surname as well.

4) How do I become featured member/featured blog? How do I get myself/my organisation featured on the news channel?
Featured members and featured blogs need to have both blogs and photos on their profile! We will then choose the best and most original of the week to feature on our home page. If you are an existing member and have recently posted a new blog, or added a new photo, please let us know at team@i-genius.org so we can have a look and possibly put it onto the homepage. If you have some news about you or your organisation, and you would like to be featured on our news channel, please send to team@i-genius.org – we will select the best stories to send to our editor.

5) What can I upload onto my profile?
You can upload, text, photos, and videos. Unfortunately you cannot upload PDFs at present.

6) How do I post a blog or upload photos/videos onto my blog?
You must first log in. When you sign in, in the top right hand corner will be a welcome note, under which are the choices 'go to my page', 'edit my profile' or 'logout'. If you click 'go to my page' in the central column will be a button that says 'Add a post'. Click on this and a screen will come up in which you can post text and add images. Videos are automatically redimensioned from YouTube. The best thing to do is to load it onto YouTube first, and then download it onto the site.

7) How do I edit my page to change what appears on my profile?
If you want to edit what appears in the left-hand column under your profile, log on and then click on the 'edit my profile' option in the top right hand corner. The Register page will appear, and you can change the details, or add a new photo. Don't forget to click the 'update' option in the bottom right hand corner to save your changes.

8) How do I start a discussion with another member of i-Genius?
You can either respond to the member's blog in the 'Add your comments' box at the bottom of the blog, which everyone will be able to see, or, once you are logged in you can click on the bar under their photo 'Send this person a message' and a message will be sent to their e-mail inbox.

9) How do I add friends to my network?
You can search for members to add to your network using the search facilities (see answers to questions 2 & 3). Once you have found the person that you would like to add to your network, click into their profile page. Under their profile photo will be a button that says 'Add this person as your friend' which you must click on (you must be logged in for this to work). A message will be sent to this user to confirm that they want to be added to your network. Once they have accepted, their photo will appear on your profile page.

10) How can I see who wants to be part of my Friends Network?
You will receive an e-mail to inform you if someone has asked you to be their friend. Log-in to i-Genius, and go to your profile page. In the right hand column you will see the profile pictures of members who have requested your friendship. Under their profiles will be two buttons, 'Accept' and 'Reject'. Choose whether you want them to be part of your network. If you chose 'Accept' they will appear in your friends network.

11) How do I register my interest for the world summit in Thailand?
Click on 'Events' on the top tool bar, and in the right hand column of the Events page is a form to register your interest in attending the conference. Information that you will have to fill in includes name, contact details, and a brief explanation of why you want to attend the conference. Alternatively, please feel free to team@i-genius.org for more details.

12) What do I do if I receive an e-mail from another i-Genius member that I suspect is illegal, or abusive?
If you are at all suspicious about the content of an e-mail that has come through the i-Genius site, please do not hesitate to contact team@i-genius.org. We do our best to delete profiles that we suspect are fraudulent, but please do let us know if you receive any unsolicited mail through the site, even if you are unsure.
