CommonwealthFirst Export Champions heading to Toronto Global Forum

canada

i-genius is supporting a delegation of Export Champions (as part of its CommonwealthFirst programme) led by its Chairman Lord Marland and the Chief Executive of Royal Mail, Moya Greene, to participate at the 11th Toronto Global Forum (TGF) in Canada this weekend. The TGF is a major annual business event organised by the International Economic Forum of the Americas. The theme this year is “Redefining Globalisation.”

The trade mission to Canada will provide our UK Export Champions with a route to market in Canada, find appropriate business partners, meet global leaders, as well as key personnel and government related to business, export, trade and investment.

In addition to helping our Export Champions to do business in Canada this is an opportunity for CommonwealthFirst to strengthen its ties with the Canadian, Ontario and Toronto Governments, and raise the profile of the Commonwealth amongst the Canadian business community.

The third CommonwealthFirst Trade Mission, we will take place from Sunday 29th October to Thursday 2nd November. This year both Canada and Ottawa are celebrating their 150th anniversary and the new Canada-EU Free Trade Agreement came into force in September 2017.

Applications to become an Export Champion for the CommonwealthFirst programme opened Wednesday 4th October 2017 and will close Monday 4th December 2017. All submissions will be considered for our fourth cohort to be announced in January 2018. Successful businesses will have the opportunity to take part in the Commonwealth Games in Queensland in Australia and the Commonwealth Summit in London in April 2018. There will also be a Trade Mission to Africa building on previous missions to India, Malaysia, and Singapore. They will also receive expert mentoring as well as access to tailored training and networking events.
