building a sustainable travel future

Taking the train instead of plane can reduce your carbon footprint with as much as 90 percent. Loco2 aims to stimulate travellers moving to train journeys by offering the first pan-European online booking site for buying train tickets. The Rail-booking site offers tickets from a number of European railway operators in countries such as the UK, Germany, France and Italy.

Partnership with Renfe to open up Spanish market
Loco2 was already offering Spanish rail journeys, but only through mail orders and at full price fare. It now also added the ‘Turista Promo’ fare into its offerings mix, with print-at-home tickets now possible for the Spanish market too.  This gives Loco2 users access to the largest high-speed rail network in Europe.

No additional booking fees
The mission of the Loco2 founders, Jamie and Kate Andrews, is to make booking a train in Europe as easy as a flight. The company does not charge any additional booking fees. Loco2, which is shorthand for Low CO2, is planning to improve its coverage in the Netherlands and Belgium. The company has so far raised seed capital of 1 million pound to further improve its API technology and invest in marketing. The software of Loco2 is now integrated with a number of railroad companies, such as Eurostar, SNCF and Deutsche Bahn.
