Drunk Drivers – the problem that stroke me, the problem I want to solve

posted on Thursday, December 20, 2007 07:26 PM

It was April 9th, 2006. Lovely, Sunday morning. One phone call changed my life – my 2 friends were killed in the car accident, caused by the drunk driver. The road was too risky, the speed was too high, the alcohol rate in the driver’s blood was far above allowed.

This happens everywhere, people get killed every day. I think it’s enough. I think we should stop for one moment and think about this. We can stop drunk driving, because it’s totally up to us and easy to do.

WE should think more;

We should hesitate less;

WE have a choice;

WE have strength to make a difference;

Have YOU ever thought you can save a life?

Have YOU ever thought you can be a hero?

Are YOU up to the challenge?

WE should think until it’s too late.

No apologies can bring my friends back to their families.

Don’t Drink and Drive.

Dear Natia, Yours is a sad story. Most of what we call accidents are not accidents at all. They are suicide, homicide and fratricide. A drunk driver would never involve in an accident but suicide. If you know the result of your action(s) and yet you involve yourself in it, that is no accident at all. The corpse of the drunk driver should be set ablaze for committing murderer. It is good that you are doing something against 'Drink and Drive'. We must also advocate for other road safety measures. People should stop calling 'SAFETY BELT' seat belt. Our finding had shown that people always leave the belt on the seats because it is called seat belt. Keep on saving lives, Natia. I'll like to add you as my friend. You can also go to my blog to read my profile and some life-saving write-ups. Thanks Moshood

Natia, we need to change our world and society, there must be a paradigm shift in the way things are done. The essential things that are needed for this change to occur would the encouragement of a world of thinkers, a people who would move from mere being alcoholists to thinkerholists and then actorholists. It is only with these people, that we can have a better world, a world relieved of poverty & corruption, untimely deaths, and cyber crimes. I hope you would get you have gotten out of the trauma.
