After many month of planning we have now issued the material relating to the i-genius world summit for a new generation of social entrepreneurs to be held in the exotic location of Phuket, Thailand, 13-16th March 2008.
It promises to be a very exciting event with members coming from all over the world along with people from corporations, media organisations and investors. The focus of the summit will be a) opportunities for social entrepreneurs in a changing world, b) networking and partnership building, c) communicating, d) finance and support for social entrepreneurs. There will also an i-genius award for the most inspiring new generation social entrepreneur, a short film festival plus a poolside reception, Gala dinner and a beach party on the final evening.
I hope whatever stage you are at with your work, whether you are developing an idea or running a fully fledge project or business or simply want to connect with great people, you will come to Thailand. The core purpose of the summit is to enable people to share great ideas and find exciting ways in which they can work together. The more people who work together from from different locations and cultures, the better the world will be.
We believe the location is very important to hosting a great event. After considering a varied of options we choose Thailand. Why? Because Thailand has a wonderful deep culture and history. It is perfectly placed economically and geographically to both benefit and feels the affects of a rapidly changing world. Thai people have a wonderful sense of art and design which can be truly inspiring. And for practical purposes, it is pretty accessible and cost effective for most to attend.
The summit will be held at the Indigo Pearl resort which is an amazing location nestled on a national park along the shores of one of Phuket's most beautiful beaches. The resort is one of the most eco-friendly locations to be found anywhere in the world. Another reason for our choice.
We have also designed the set for the formal summit proceedings in a unique way quite unlike other traditional conferences with the aim of maximising the greatest degree of participation and free flow of dialogue.
