Day 1 – Phuket paradise

I arrived yesterday ahead of the team who are still working from Bangkok. The Indigo Pearl resort is even more stunningly beautiful than it was before. The thousands of new trees and plants have since matured and the lushness of the vegetation is gorgeous to the eye. A few quirky design features have been added in various places around the resort giving the place a very unique and trendy feel.

We began planning the Summit even before we formally launched i-genius and it is an amazing feeling to finally be here and see it all coming together. The choice of location was a major part of the early planning. We wanted to find somewhere that was truly unique and inspiring, a place where people could really chill out and spend time getting to know each other. A place where the very environment will act as a spur to creative thinking. I first thought of India but practical obstacles like bureaucracy and ease of access into the country ruled it out. Eventually I settled on Thailand.

Thailand is a historic and proud nation which is undergoing profound economic and social change. It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and this gift of nature has helped inspire Thai people to enhance their surroundings even further with the most graceful art and design. i-genius believes that beauty, be it in its natural form or the product of wonderful art and design, acts as a powerful inspiration to people who want to improve the world we live in. This is a wonderful country in which to allow your creative talents to flow, a place to dream and imagine the possible.

The people of Thailand have also played an important part in helping us choose to locate here. Thai hospitality and friendliness - Land of smiles - as well as their professionalism makes every stay in this country, memorable. Friendship is an important precursor to the development of strong partnerships – a central theme which we wish to encourage at the Summit.

The Indigo Pearl reflects the very best of these qualities. It has been carefully designed with nature in mind. Most of the materials are locally sourced and the management and staff have shown i-genius team the utmost professionalism and kindness in preparing this Summit.

Thailand is special.
