The Big Hope

I've participated in one of the most inspiring and amazing gathering I've been to. Liverpool Hope University hosted the Big Hope Youth Global Congress with more than 600 young participants from all around the world. The congress concentrated in it's activities on three main points:

• How may we develop a humane global society?
• How may we ensure that there is integrity in public life;
• What can the individual do?

For me, participating in this event was a great opportunity to meet interesting people from all over, get to know their culture, and learn from their experiences. In addition to listening to amazing world and community leaders on their experience and thoughts on how to make a difference and how to make this world more humane.

I believe that this gathering at Liverpool Hope University was an “ah-ha moment” for a lot of its participants. It gave them the opportunity to realize that we need to think beyond our needs and benefits, that we as individuals can make a difference, and that by working together we can create a more humane society.

I think by organizing such events and by creating virtual social communities (such as i-genius) things can start moving on the right direction. By combining forces and sharing experience, we can make this world a better place for us and for generations to come.

I'm not sure if there will be one next year. To my understanding it was a one-time only event.
