IndiaOrganix is an Indian food brand created by Sanjay Kumar of MIKA & Co in Brighton, Sussex. IndiaOrganix was set up to promote & market the organic produce of India's traditional spice gardens, spice workers cooperatives, tribal spice producers and street traders, and SAARC funded tribal wildcrafting projects. IndiaOrganix works in partnership with traditional Indian spice houses sourcing the finest organic spice produce grown and harvested by grass-roots farmer's groups. We also work with the best British curry houses in promoting the fine spice ingredients grown in North East India and the distictive cooking styles of the 'seven sister states' of the Indian subcontinent. The IndiaOrganix team in Brighton will be ever grateful to Bimal Varmadas, his archivists and librarians at the ICRI in Idukki for their hard work (and uncomplaining demenor!) in finding all those obsure bits of information that we requested: herb recipes of the 17th century; spice trivia; historical anecdotes of the spice trade, and all the rest of it.
Hopefully all the hard work will pay off when IndiaOrganix publishes 'Pharmacy in a Rack' in Brighton.
The Indian Cardamom Research Institute ( I. C. R .I. ) was established by in 1978. The main Institute is at Myladumpara in Idukki district of Kerala, Myladumpara.
The primary mandate of Indian Cardamom Research Institute is to develop sustainable spice production, protection and post harvest technologies for India's spice producers.
