Welcome to Project Freesheet

Project Freesheet is aiming to create a massive 1.5 million image collage. This collage will be 'built' online and when finished will be displayed in a gallery. Quite a large gallery. It will measure approximately 30 metres by 5 metres, and will possibly be the largest collage ever built.
The idea came to me when reading an article in The Ecologist written by Jon Hughes.
In a nutshell freesheet newspapers are having a massive impact on our environment. With 1.5 million editions being printed and handed out in London alone everyday, a huge amount of waste is being created but not properly managed. Can an environment already under siege really go on supporting this kind of waste of resources? The contractors responsible for clearing up the tubes of London, Metronet, admit that they can only recycle about 10% of the rubbish they collect. That means more and more rubbish is going to landfill. This is not acceptable.
Project Freesheet is about raising awareness around key areas such as waste and recycling. One of the main aims of Project Freesheet is to encourage Industry to sponsor the impact it is having on our environment.
