I-genius: How did you hear about i-genius, and why did you join the community?
Peter: I got to know i-genius when I mate Tommy Hutchinson
in 2008 during the Big Hope Conference in Liverpool-UK. He was the Team leader and chief discussion/guest speaker on Social Entrepreneurship in our Social Entrepreneurs strand (group). Tommy Hutchinson told me of his plan and amazing thinks i-genius is doing around the world and he really motivated me to join i-genus.
Reasons why am part of i-genius community are of two fold; the need to be part of proactive social innovators that promotes social business and/or social entrepreneurship with ultimate goal of promoting a positive change in the lives of local communities and the need to develop partnerships with organizations that shares our dreams and aspiration.
I-genius: Tell us about yourself and the Aridland Development Programme.
Peter: Am a founder member of Aridlland Development Programme and I believe in working for and helping the poor communities to improve their livelihoods through sustainable vocational and/or jobs and business skills training. For the last two years, I have been working for World Vision Uganda as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer implementing Karamoja Drought Response Programme targeting mainly severly food insecure households, food insecure and moderatly food insecure housholds in Karamoja-Uganda

Currently, ADP’s programmes include vocational/ICT and Jobs/Business skills training, Agro-business, adult literacy, support to women groups to manage small scale loans, crop production for economic development and food security/Nutrition, support to health, HIV/AIDS and voluntary counseling, lobby and advocacy.
i-genius: What part do you feel social entrepreneurship will play this year?
Peter: Link and strengthen partnership with Aridland Development Programme and other established Organization. We welcome volunteers to come work with us and learn from the great work we are doing here in Uganda.
i-genius: What are your future goals with Aridland Development Programme?
Peter: To excel in community social entrepreneurship that brings positive social change and build a more humane society with improved alternative livelihood through skill empowerment for alternative lievilihood (SEAL)
i-genius: Where would you like your next holiday to be?
Peter: I if I have any chance, I would love to visit i-genius business academy to learn more on Social Entrepreneurship and/or visit developed organization with well established social entrepreneurship programmes to learn from their programming.
