CSR Essentials
Two Day Workshop on the Why & How of
Corporate Social Responsibility
Place: Nagpur Venue: To be Announced Soon
Dates: September 24-25, 2009
Organised by:
Centre for Training and Research in Responsible Business & Social Entrepreneurship
Corporate Responsibility is beyond charity and philanthropy. To be good Corporate Citizens Companies need to go beyond statutory requirements and integrate social, environmental and ethical concerns into their business strategy. To develop and implement an effective CSR programme it is essential that management at all levels understand its scope and content . A CSR programme will only be effective if all employees are engaged. Attitudes will not change unless employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and implement CSR activities. Training is vital.

Why this Workshop: A recent study sponsored by Partners in Change has revealed that a majority of the Corporates surveyed felt that the entire work force could use CSR awareness-building and training. Middle level management and HR personnel were identified as those having the most need for CSR awareness and training. The survey indicated that only 7% had participated in any CR related training programme. A majority felt that the CSR programme offered by the B-schools was generally low and inadequate.

The CSR Essentials programme is an attempt to fulfill the awareness building and training needs of CSR personnel. At the end of the two day programme participants would have gained the confidence, skills and the tools to prepare and implement CSR programmes more effectively ensuring increased benefits for the organization and brand image.Participants in our early workshops have said that the sessions were very useful and had increased their awareness levels. They were able to understand first hand CSR programmes from experts.
