Volunteering Abroad

Is an area that I am really interested in. for me travel is all about real experience, focusing on people not places and historical sites. I want to understand the food, ways of working, community bonds etc.

Volunteering is a great way to be able to achieve this and I think there needs greater emphasis and co-ordination between groups, so that finding workers and placements is easier through the sharing of resources.

This requires a central hub, as at present I see that every organisation has their own interest, their own website and own effort in raising awareness of their cause, as well as finding people to help them. Surely it would be better if these charities worked together better?
