A Children's Foundation

By the end of this week we hope to have the new foundation online.

The need for this derives directly from our reports of neglect in Ukrainian institutions for disabled children. These reports have taken many by surprise and caused disbelief until news broke of the home in Kalinovka.

The Foundation aims to create 10 model centres of excellence in disability care as the first stage of rehabilitation and a model for future care.

We will also promote a radio campaign to make Ukrainians aware of the support offered in fostering/adopting orphaned children. Such things are little known due to limited penetration of internet service which we perhaps take for granted.

Meanwhile we stand by with our 'Marshall Plan' hoping that governments will collaborate to deliver such intervention on a national scale.

Postscript.

We now have a website at ukrainechildrensorgs.p-ced.com
and some very good news in that the increases in adopter allowance we recommended 2 years ago became government policy 3 days ago.
