TV is ......

I have just finished filming as a co presenter for a programme on Channel 4 learning. Has been a most entertaining and educational experience as you see the rigourous timetable needed to put together such a programme, as well as what it takes to make "good TV".

There is so much about good causes that can be done on TV but this experience has shown me that it won't work unless such a programme does make "good TV". As much as I hate the stereotypes and narrative in programmes like Children in Need or even the BBC's OUCH! I realise more and more what works and what will get scheduled.

TV is an interesting world and whilst viral TV through things like YouTube and Revver make headlines (mostly for the wrong reasons) mainstream TV remains a potential brilliant audience for us in the social enterprise arena to get our message across. The challenge is just how do we do it for the long haul!
