Giving Youth a Voice

Each day I constantly read about the violence encountered by our youth in London. Many in the poorer areas walk scared of what my lay around the corner while some of the privileged live in a cocoon totally unphased or unaware of what some of their contemporaries go through. Surely there are more stories to tell than those ones, and what if we could hear it straight from the horses mouth so to speak.
I enjoy running workshops and partnering with organisations who run workshops to help youth communicate better. Sometimes that could be just through developing key communication skills, other times it could be through public speaking, through debating and yet again through the medium of film.
I am intrigued as to what would happen if youth from around the country were openly and freely given the opportunity to speak their mind on film what kinds of real and up to date stories we would hear.
Maybe others are interested or are already doing so.
I would love to hear.....

Hi, David! It's been a while since we've communicated. I see that you're still your usual insightful self. It would be awesome to have youth express themselves that way. I know that Spike Lee is scheduled to have children who are Hurricane katrina survovors capture there feelings via video. I've heard that the documentary is awesome.
