Pensive Dawn

since i was around 12 years old, i write down my thoughts and what i call ¨quotable quotes¨. i would like to put everything down in here but sadly the journal where i used to write on is in Manila.

anyway, i just want to put down into writing some that continue to linger in my mind. so, here they are:

i fail to understand until now, how can a person find happiness in exchange of the sadness of another...

no matter how much you try to keep things quiet, someone will still hear of it... this applies literally and figuratively

almost everybody expresses their concern over Africa... i wonder if these people think if their neighbors have something to eat

they are concerned about Africa? so what do they do about it?
loads of people now are crazy about the topics of social development, sustainability, climate change, Africa... is it because it´s ¨fashionable¨ or are they truly concerned?

don´t laugh too much, you never know what´s in store for you later on... lock jaw maybe

forget about what i said about not laughing too much. laugh! the thought that you had a lot of fun will keep you breathing when it´s time to cry.

laugh and smile! it brings sparkles into your eyes.

enjoy your time partying... but ask yourself who will be there when things get rough.

do not idolize... admire.

when somebody´s crying, shut up or, better yet, hug that somebody.

be glad that people are asking for your help, it simply means you have something that they don´t or can´t do.

remember to phone your friends once in awhile. keep in touch.

if you think the world is coming to an end because you have too many problems... dress up, look good, go out, and smile to everybody... at least, if things will end you will be handsome or beautiful the last time.

i wonder why people push others away when it feels better to hug...

why frown? smiling makes you look more beautiful.

keep your opinion to yourself. wait until it is asked for before voicing it, or not even.

before blaming or accusing somebody, ask yourself first if you haven´t done the same.

so i won, it doesn´t mean you´re not a big guy. just accept that sometimes women win games of ¨men¨

a friend who passed away often reminded me that i should find somebody who will treat me like a princess... i am not a princess but if i am truly loved, i am sure i will feel like one.

if you may accuse me of being talkative, it means i have full confidence on you. i am not called a snob for no reason.

i think i´m a great person. i consider my ex-husband one of my best friends.

you can trick your own mind. you know the horrible thing that happened on that horrible day? it did not happen.

respect somebody´s religion... or the lack of it.

who am i to say these things? i am but another girl who went to hell and back again. trust me, it was hot, risky, adventurous, and painful, but most probably, i´d do it again.
