City Academy

I manage the clients at a performing arts school called City Academy in Holborn.
City Academy is a great example of a fantastic social enterprise that is full of energy and fun. Ran by the Anna Fiorentini, who has three business awards under her belt and the personality to get anyone dancing (!), the school has been a great success.
Anna started her acclaimed Film and Theatre School in Hackney for 7 to 19 year olds in 2000, and found that many of the children she was teaching could not afford the fees. It was with this in mind that she became inspired to start City Academy, this time aiming at people from the London business community and the general public and using the profits to pay for the children who could not afford to attend her Hackney school. Having gathered together a variety of top professional teachers, she took them to the beautiful Holborn Bars to start their venture.
With achievements such as choreographing for Tina Turner, directing Eastenders and performing operas at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the teachers are more than ready to take on the task of turning ordinary people in stars!
Since I have been at City Academy there has been a mixture of students, from those who have experience, to those who are complete amateurs, but one thing they do have in common is that they love fun! These guys will be dancing their hearts out to tunes they had never heard of by the end of each class!

Hi Linzi, It would look like I am starting at the same boat where you started. I surely do hope to get to the shore, albeit with bruises. Please see my profile as well and give any advise you may have. Regards
