Book to Kids Initiative (B2K)

B2K is a book-donation and learning support initiative aimed at improving the quality of education among indigent children in Nigeria. The initiative is a quick response to the huge gap between the increase in primary and secondary school enrolments occasioned by the adoption of Universal Basic Education in Nigeria and the poor quality and unavailability of learning materials.

The decay of learning infrastructure in Nigeria, especially in rural communities, is a big threat to the future of the nation and as such, it is important for all stakeholders to be involved in one way or the other in solving the problem. Every year, secondary schools in Nigeria graduate students who can hardly speak simple English without avoidable errors. We see this as a national emergency and such; expect that everyone should take positive actions to make this situation history.

We partner with organizations and individuals in developed countries to collect and send used books to us. At the moment, we are working with a US-based organization that is already involved in shipping books to Nigeria.


Mission: To support the improvement of qualitative primary and secondary education in Nigeria through the donation of books and other learning materials

Vision: ensure that every primary and secondary school child in rural/semi-urban communities in Nigeria has access to basic learning materials-book and non-book materials.


Objective
Support primary/secondary school age children with books and other learning materials

Help primary and secondary schools in rural communities set up working libraries.

Help primary and secondary school children to develop and sustain healthy reading cultures.

Highlight and draw attention to the challenges of primary education in Nigeria

Current Project:Setting up a community library for a group of schools in Kwale,Ndokwa west Area of Delta State in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
