Lightening claims two in East, 17 injured

Two people died and 17 others were injured, in two separate incidents, in the Eastern Region as they were struck by lightening.
Local Kishu Rai, 17, of Dhankuta district died while undergoing treatment at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) on Saturday, said Police.
Likewise, Rai’s wife Kalpana, and family members Kavita Rai, Bhojbahadur Rai, Sita Rai, Bhakta Maya Rai along with neighbour Tirtha Kumari Rai were injured in the incident.
Similarly, Kimu Sherpa, 18, of Tehrathum district was also killed by lightening. Nine others have been injured in the same incident. The injured are being treated at the district hospital, said Police.
