The Brighton based charity The Real Thing has appointed Sanjay Kumar MIKA to handle the communications planning activity for its alcohol awareness campaign in Brighton, Sussex.

The Real Thing provides education to young people in the outcomes of substance misuse and the consequences of dependancy. Rising anti-social behaviour and local crime is linked to the increasing ease of availability of drugs and alcohol. The Real Thing believes that education is key in raising awareness among the youth population in Sussex about the dangers of alcohol.

The primary target audience is young people in schools, colleges and universities.

Jamie Douglas, spokesperson for The Real Thing said:
"Our aim is to provide an ongoing service to young people across Brighton and East Sussex with a vision to make this a standard part of schools ciriculum across the UK."

The Real Thing campaign is due to launch in October 2008.
