New Year, New... What?

So it is June 1. My ‘new’ year started.
Bells and whistles?
Loud celebrations?
Not really; I’m silent. Which, given the energy which normally goes through me is a big thing!
My only thought, repeatedly, as I consider my company and life’s work is about my grandmother! Can you imagine that?
Most people in my circle know of my appreciation for the ‘Little Lady’ who I love[d] a lot! What I suppose many people don’t know is that I have long considered my business to be a tribute to her and her legacy in life…
Mom passed away exactly five years ago today; yes the day I was standing in the Registration Office [literally a stone’s throw away from the hospital where she was residing], registering my first business; taking my first step into a domain which till then was not considered truly accessible to someone of my description. Certainly not in a fashion that I desired it to be which is high standard, innovative; maxing creativity out, fully optimising resources and myself!
Like with many things I didn’t ‘freak out’ at Mom’s passing. It had been coming for a week. And though there was sadness, I felt like we were connected indefinitely and that this was her time to move on, out of the struggle of this life and back to fulltime peace, as I imagine ‘death’ to be.
But I did feel a ‘handover’ taking place. It felt quite appropriate to take the baton from her hand and keep it moving; a tribute to her full appreciation of this life, of these gifts, of these possibilities to help make life so much richer for anyone she could have access to…
No-one until now has touched me the way that this ‘uneducated’, ‘orphaned’, ‘poor’, ‘disadvantaged’, ‘underprivileged’ woman has… and yes, I have met MANY people along this way. When you have been exposed to someone like that in your growth years, it’s pretty difficult to underachieve thereafter! It’s very difficult to maintain a closed mind or a selfish heart or to be inhumane! The truth is: I don’t want to!
I thank all my friends and my professional colleagues for your support over these years, in your overt or quiet ways! I will keep promoting the cause of a Human Capitalism generally and of Quality and Excellence specifically. These will be my primary focus as we go forward, Facilitating Quality, Excellence, Quality of Life for everybody who desires this for themselves and for their legacy.
I close on this note from an achiever of note: Michelangelo –

God bless you, and bless us all.
Yours sincerely,
Sherrilene M. Collymore
