Lots of activity in Quality Caribbean Entrepreneurship

posted on Monday, June 15, 2009 08:48 PM

Hello friends,

I have been having a great time ‘hooking up’ with Caribbean counterparts that are advancing enterprise and Quality of Life in their own ways, through their individual organisations. We are all creating new models and methods together and appreciate the support of our networks as we grow into our own.

Cry For Life CD Launch

Last Thursday saw the launch of the CD ‘Cry for Life’ led by creative, Wayne ‘Onkphra’ Wells and his band Lion Soul and it was great! Contributions from Gabby, Aja and Dancin’ Africa made it an all-round very enjoyable, talent and energy-filled occasion. Befriend Onkphra on Facebook [@Onkphra Wells] for more details on acquiring a CD of your own. It is a Quality Effort commemorating Africa, Haiti and Caribbean life, which deserves applauding.

Bridgetown Film Festival

This past weekend was the innovative Bridgetown Film Festival put on by the Film Group which was founded by entrepreneurs and creatives, Mahmood Patel and Nala. Presenting to an open air setting under the stars and to the backdrop of a crashing Atlantic ocean, the setting in itself was lovely and the film selection diverse. I was especially moved by the Surinamese-set, Dutch language movie ‘Secret of the Saramaca River’ because of its beautiful sceneries and familiar ‘human’ scenarios being played out. The diversity was refreshing. The Film Group intends to continue with their presentations this year and invites you to keep in touch via the Facebook page [@ Bridgetown Film Festival].

Coming up very soon…

I am pleased to announce my association with Camp Entrepreneur, being put on by Adrian and Robertha Reid of Legaci Marketing from June 29th to July 24th at the Springer Memorial School, from 9:00 to 2:00 each weekday, at the cost of $125. I will be presenting a workshop entitled ‘It’s Your Time’ on June 30th as a contribution to the work being done here.

Being put on for the third year running, Camp Entrepreneur is targeting the next generation of Barbadian human capital, 11-15 year olds, in a comprehensive programme which will include hands-on education in marketing research, life skills, public speaking and sustainable business building. Full details can be found at the Legaci Marketing Website. Please register this week!!

Next Month

The 4th International Food Safety Conference, will take place in Kingston Jamaica, from 30 – 31 July, 2009. Please look out for more details over the next weeks. But you can register online already at this link: http://www.foodhygienebureau.org. This is a very high standard initiative by Food and Occupational Health Safety Specialists, the Caribbean Food Hygiene Bureau, led by Jamaican entrepreneur, Marva Hewitt-Heaven.

Thank you again for supporting our Quality Caribbean people, who are committed to Excellence. Please keep in touch via our home page for Quality in the Caribbean or by email.

Yours sincerely,
