Doing A Spot of Fellowship Project Work in Germany
What attracted you to this museum project?
I was attracted by the history and culture of the Bavaria. I have always looked forward to a time when I will travel to this region to see the mountains and connect with the people. At the center of this is the opportunity to literary connect with their culture by restoring a 17th Century Farmhouse. We are rebuilding this farmhouse exactly how they built it in the past. To me it is a rare opportunity to see and feel like they did in time past.
A project of this nature opens one up to other ways of thinking and builds ones capacity to accommodate people from other socio-cultural backgrounds. Here in Schliersee, the team consist of fellows from Rwanda,Switzerland, Nepal,Nigeria, Indonesia,Mexico,India, USA and the Philippines.
How does one go about getting a Fellowship?
Is this your first time to visit Germany? If yes, then what were your first impressions?
Over the next three months what will you be doing in Schliersee, Germany? What do you hope to achieve during your fellowship experience? And how will this experience help you for future projects?
During this fellowship,i hope to acquired new skills , learn more about the Bavarian culture and broaden my perspective on how to relate with people from different backgrounds. The ability to connect and find a common ground with people who do not share my socio-cultural and religious views is strategic to the success of my career and future projects.
Did you pack anything interesting in your suitcase?
Thank you Timothy!
