Application deadline is 8th August 2015.

The Health and Nutrition Innovation Fund (HANIF) aims to increase demand, accountability and supply of quality services in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) and Nutrition. HANIF is a grant fund that aims to foster and promote simple innovations that benefit poor women and children by funding ideas that will result in long term impact.

HANIF is a subcomponent of the Empowerment, Voice and Accountability for Better Health and Nutrition (EVA-BHN) programme. Through HANIF, EVA-BHN will seek out initiatives with potential for sustainable models through a blend of competitive open calls for proposals and solicited grants. The funding will be open to all the organisations across Pakistan that meet the eligibility criteria. Projects under HANIF will only be implemented in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Poor child and maternal health remains a pressing challenge in Pakistan with a large numbers of mothers and babies dying each year from often preventable deaths.

It is not just a social or health problem but one that impacts all of us alike and which requires great ideas and solutions from everyday people and organizations alike to solve for.  By addressing challenges in malnutrition, care during pregnancy and birth, family planning and access to life-saving immunization, we can help children and mothers to be healthier and more productive.

HANIF is committed to providing funding and support to support innovations and businesses that can tackle these challenges, particularly products, services or models that can be applied to the public sector.  Thus we are encouraging high impact businesses, innovators, NGOs and civil society members to apply.  But we need your help.  Please spread the word!

Eligible businesses in particular should be small to mid-sized, ready to scale, offer a product, service or approach that directly or tangentially benefits the health of mothers and young children in Pakistan, and be operating or plan to have operations in the provinces of Khyber Paktunkhwa and Punjab.
