Morocco hosts Mediterraneans first young social entrepreneur initiative

Twenty five young social entrepreneur ambassadors gathered in Mehdia, near Rabat on 26th April to plan the next stage of the Young Social Innovators project with a view to encouraging young people to be the first 'ambassadors' for social innovation and to build the next steps for future social entrepreneurs in the country.
The meeting follows a capacity building training course delivered by i-genius Academy which was hosted by the British Council on 10th and 11th April. At the end of the two day training, the young Ambassadors outlined three possible options to expand their work in attracting more social innovators ranging from a newspaper, national competition or a tour of the country. The purpose of the 26th April meeting is to fine tune the plan and take it to the next stage.
i-genius founder, Tommy Hutchinson who conducted the training said “I was immensely impressed by the level of talent displayed by the ambassadors and their passion and energy was incredible. They have the potential to make a great contribution to the future of Morocco.”
Adnane Addioui, programme director for the British Council added “The purpose of the Young Social Innovators project is to create a new generation of social innovators in Morocco who we hope will in turn spur more young people to develop projects and businesses to improve their communities.
