Flying the Kathoey flag
Just in time for the i-genius Asia Summit on Social Entrepreneurship in Thailand, PC Air has taken flight with the third sex. The airline named after its owner Peter Chan has become the first Thai airline to employ transgender cabin crew members. In a bid to give transgenders (known as Kathoey) more rights and equality, the airline also plans to employ people with disabilities and over 60s, and already has a Kathoey pilot, who first flew last month from Bangkok to Vientiane in Laos.
From this month onwards PC Air plans to fly to Hong Kong, China, Japan and South Korea whilst flying the flag for transgenders with pride. For all those who can make the journey to the Asia Summit we look forward to seeing you in Bangkok.
