Countdown to Thailand!

In the run up to the i-genius world summit, David McQueen chats to us about his role at the event, and the real reasons as to why he is excited about coming to Thailand…

Editor: How has 2008 treated you so far? What’s the best thing that’s happened so far this year?
David:
2008 has been good. Excited by what has happened so far and also the opportunities that are available. The best thing that has happened so far….hmmmm..not sure there are so many and I am on my way to Thailand…..

Editor: How are you finding life post your ‘Vocation Vocation Vocation’ fame? Will you be appearing on our screens any time again soon?
David:
Fame. Hahaha. Well it has been good and I have a couple of ideas on the boil. Not sure about the big screen but definitely looking to do some internet TV work. Watch this space.

Editor: You always seem to be so full of energy and enthusiasm. There must be times you feel a bit flat and uninspired. If so, how do you pick yourself up again, and if not, what’s your secret?!
David:
I am usually quite bubbly but I am also a very private person. I think my secret to my happiness (maybe I should write a book on it) is just being able to appreciate what I have. My health. My wife. My kids. My friends. Appreciating what I have keeps me very positive.

Editor: So not long to go until the i-genius world summit! What are you most looking forward to at the event?
David:
I am looking forward to walking on the beach. Oh yes. Oh sorry I am looking forward to meeting and networking with some fantastic social entrepreneurs.

Editor: Tell us a bit about how you will be involved in the event.
David:
I am so excited about this. Can you tell? At the event I will be facilitating a few sessions, hosting the gala dinner and running a Presentation Skills Workshop.

Editor: There will be lots of amazing people to meet in Thailand. If you could meet any one person, past or present, who would they be, and why? (And would it be on a beach in Thailand, and if not, where would it be?!)
David:
There are so many people I would love to meet both past and present but if I was tied down to one. I would have loved to have met my paternal grandfather who died before I was born. I have gained much love and wisdom from my living grandparents that it would have been nice to kind of complete that circle by meeting him. It would probably be on a beach in Grenada (where he was from) but hey Thailand would do.
