“Implementing Criminal Defense: From Arrest to Appeal.”

Do you have an innovative idea that curbs torture, arbitrary, detainment or abuse? If so, then enter the 2008 JusticeMakers Competition. The eight “heroes of criminal justice,” winners will each receive $5,000 in seed funding to implement their initiatives locally. The Application window closes on 14th August 2008.

A project of International Bridges to Justice, JusticeMakers is an online community that shares intellectual capital and best practices in the field of criminal justice.  The site hosts competitions, facilitates discussions, and connects passionate members of the criminal defense community with their counterparts from around the world.

With one hundred and thirteen (113 out of 194) countries reportedly still practicing torture within the Justice system, there is no better time than the present to implement criminal defense: from arrest to appeal. What can you do to help? Enter the competition today!
