Call for participation in Pakistan Commission on Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Opportunity Pakistan

Commission on Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Karachi – Lahore – Islamabad
7th – 15th September, 2013

We invite you to consider becoming part of the Commission on Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation to Pakistan.

i-genius is a world community of social entrepreneurs with members in over 200 countries. The purpose of the Commission is to better understand the rapid changes taking place in Pakistan and help boost the potential and impact of its social economy and social entrepreneurship.

The Commission will undertake its work at a time of great historical significance. A successful democratic transfer of power to a new government, along with a high proportion of energised young people and the empowerment of women are just some pointers to what is rapidly becoming a more confident country. Pakistan has massive potential to shape its own future and contribute to the development of its neighbours and the world as a whole. This represents the backdrop of our work.

Specifically, Opportunity Pakistan seeks to:

1. Raise awareness of social entrepreneurship within Pakistan
2. Identify and promote talented social entrepreneurs

4. Assess what is required to support the development of social entrepreneurship and the implications for policy makers, educators, businesses, NGOs, investment and trade
5. Assess Pakistan’s potential as a regional hub for social businesses
6. Summarise its findings and prepare new initiatives on trade, investment and learning
