workshops and competitions kick off!

The week-long I am a Changemaker workshops and competition has finally kicked off in Cebu City, Philippines. Now in its 3rd year, the social enterprise business plan competition is for young people between the ages of 16 – 28 of which the best social enterprise idea will get seed funding to help them implement their ideas. This nationwide competition will have winners from each of the island groups of Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and the National Capital Region. i-genius’ Tommy Hutchinson continues his journey in the Philippines and will be taking part in the workshops and competition. If it’s anything to go by last years competition then it will prove to be as exciting and innovative. Take a look at the short-listed proposals here:

i-genius is back in the Philippines for two weeks partnering with SEDPI and the British Council to deliver workshops on how to start a social enterprise in Cagayan de Oro and Cebu, as part of the Skills for Social Entrepreneurs programme which aims to create partnerships with UK institutions to train social entrepreneurs to attract investment and be successful. It aims to work with voluntary organisations to establish international links, non governmental organisations to find new ways to address their business challenges, entrepreneurs needing support, corporate social responsibility managers looking for ways to make impact with their investments and investors looking for innovative ideas.
