Barack Obama plans to host a summit on social entrepreneurship later this year. He made the announcement last Thursday in Cairo in one of the most important speeches of his presidency. Focusing on improving ties between the United States and the Muslim world, the President said “I will host a Summit on Entrepreneurship this year to identify how we can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations and social entrepreneurs in the United States and Muslim communities around the world”.

In response to the announcement, Creative director for i-genius, Barry Crisp said “this is a very exciting development. It really puts social entrepreneurs on the world stage and represents a great opportunity for i-genius members to get involved”.
